Surgical Assistant
Katie Cureton, a surgical assistant, has a decade of experience under her belt. For the past four years, she has been an invaluable asset at Lisa Miller Oral Facial Surgery, dedicated to providing exceptional care for patients. Katie’s journey started after graduating from Fairhope High School and Faulkner College, where she earned certifications in DAANCE and BLS, and became a certified dental assistant. Katie prepares patients and operating rooms, assists in procedures, and manages both inventory and emergency protocols.
Her greatest joy comes from seeing patients smile and knowing she has positively impacted their experience. A significant milestone in her career was passing the anesthesia exam, demonstrating her commitment and hard work.
Outside of her professional life, Katie loves spending time with her children, visiting the dog park, traveling, and maintaining an active lifestyle. She is also deeply committed to volunteering with her church, particularly in supporting children in need during the holiday season.
At the practice, Katie enhances the patient experience by treating everyone like family, ensuring they feel comfortable and valued. Her passion for caring for others was instilled in her by her mother, a once accomplished ER Nurse Manager and now Orthopaedic Trauma Coordinator, who inspired her to pursue a career in healthcare.

Administrative Coordinator
Kayla Merchant is a dedicated Administrative Coordinator with a decade of experience, including three years at Lisa Miller Oral Facial Surgery. As a Certified Dental and Orthodontic Assistant with a BLS certification, Kayla ensures our patients have a seamless experience from the moment they walk through our doors. Her responsibilities include greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and maintaining accurate patient records. What Kayla enjoys most about her job is creating a welcoming atmosphere and making a lasting first impression.
A memorable achievement in her career was passing her orthodontic exam, which marked a significant milestone in her journey. Outside of work, Kayla loves staying active and visiting the beach. With her first baby on the way, she is also busy preparing for this exciting new chapter in her life.
Kayla is passionate about contributing positively to the patient experience through her cheerful demeanor and genuine care for others. Her motivation stems from making a difference, whether through exceptional customer service or being a supportive team member. She finds fulfillment in knowing her work has a positive impact on those around her.
